Class Description:

Yoga for scoliosis workshop:

"Unwind your spine with this ancient practice of breath, mindfulness and joy"

Yoga is about balancing all facets of your life:  physically, emotionally, intellectually, energetically, and spiritually.  Experience how realigning your spine will free up your energy on all these levels.  The body will always move towards balance; that is often the problem when scoliosis increases. The beautiful postures will restore balance while teaching you new ways of being aligned in your life.

All levels welcome.  For spinal curves greater than 35 degrees, or specific questions, please consult with Kathy before registering.

Kathy Florentine BS, RTY500, has been teaching yoga in the Grand Rapids community for 14 years.  She studies yoga therapeutics with John Friend, Doug Keller, Nischala Devi, Betsey Downing, Amy Weintraub, Leslie Kaminoff, Gabriel Halpern.  Her yoga practice has supported freeing her spine and strengthening her core.  Her backgroung in Respiratory Therapy and Cardiac Rehabilitation informs her practice and teaching.  www.yogatapestry.com
